Privacy policy

Data handling in the current development version of RunePad.
This policy will be updated to reflect the features offered at release.

Information collected by the developer

The current RunePad app does not include analytics tools or advertising SDKs that collect user information for the developer. No account registration is required.

Information stored on your device

Control settings, profiles, layouts, key assignments, and identifiers and names of connected hosts are stored on your device.

You can export and import profiles as files. If you choose cloud storage, that service stores and synchronizes the files according to its own behavior and policies.

Bluetooth communication

Bluetooth is used to discover and connect to hosts, and to send mouse and keyboard input to the selected host. Input operations do not use the developer’s servers or a Wi-Fi connection.

Web editor and QR scanning

The web editor stores edits in your browser and does not upload configuration data to a server. The editor does not include analytics. Editor files are cached in your browser for offline use. Clearing site data also removes saved edits.

The app uses the camera to scan profile QR codes. Processing occurs on the device; images are not stored or uploaded. A QR contains profile settings, so anyone you share it with can read those settings.
