MACRO PAD / GUIDE
Using the macro pad
Your everyday actions, on buttons within reach.
From copy and paste to AI slash commands: focus the app or input field on your host, then use RunePad buttons. No companion app is needed on the host.
01Tap a shortcut
Copy, paste or undo with a single tap.For example, Copy sends Command + C on Mac or Ctrl + C on Windows, following host settings.
02Enter a command
Put frequently used text such as /compact on a button.Choose typing only or sending Enter after typing. Use an empty input field. Commands support ASCII letters, digits, spaces, / and -, up to 80 characters.
03Keep AI controls together
Unofficial presets for Claude Code, Codex, Claude App and ChatGPT App.These presets target Mac. Voice buttons control host voice input using the Mac microphone; host voice features and shortcuts need setup. Built-in slash commands only type text; press Return to execute.
04Arrange your controls
Resize and position buttons alongside a trackpad.Edit directly in the app. Adjust your layout to suit a regular or split keyboard.
05Switch for each task
Organize browser, writing and AI controls into profiles.Save and switch layouts. Adding and exporting profiles requires Pro.
06Edit on the web, too
Edit on a larger screen, then import the layout into the app with a QR code. The web editor is free. Configuration is processed in your browser, not uploaded. QR codes contain the settings themselves, so importing does not require a web lookup. Larger layouts can be transferred as JSON files.
Buttons change color while pressed. In Display settings, button feedback and touch trails can each be turned off.
“Switch to alphanumeric” requests an input-mode change before typing a command. It does not restore the previous mode afterward. Behavior depends on the host OS and IME settings.
